I have been having trouble updating the current blog that I have in my Friendster account. I'm not sure myself what the hell is wrong. Anyways, these few weeks have proven to be somewhat hectic and hell for me.. With so many midterms, assignments due and not to mention presentations! And lucky me, I'm still breathing! It's not that I'm complaining but somehow I need to pen down what I feel.. I felt somewhat, relieved for I have taken some of the hard subjects last semesters for this semester, the lecturers of those particular subjects are becoming more and more notorious..! But, just don't worry too much.. Cause I think you guys are gonna do well in your final exams, InsyaAllah..
Last Wednesday, we went to Sentul,Brickfields and around KL for our fieldwork and we have just realised that we need to go out for the fieldwork thingy 2 days before our presentation! We almost thought that everything was screwed but luckily we didn't give up.. Just a day before our presentation, we skipped classes for the whole day and first went to Sentul to find some Malaysian Indians to be interviewed. Oh the title of our project is HINDRAF.. We were bunch of naive gals who didn't quite know what to do. First, we went to slumps area and managed to take some pictures of the slumps in which the houses were of Malays, Chinese and Indians. I have to be the so-called journalist and talk to the camera..haha.. We were scared but we managed to do it. Soon after that, we went to interview an Indian lady who has this stern looked on her face but appeared to be friendly and all nice. To cut the story short, we managed to interview 5 Indians including a bunch of schoolkids and 1 malay man on grabbing-who-we-saw-first basis.. It was fun and they are nice and friendly people. All of the Malaysian Indians were against the Hindraf. It's just we, Malays need to tone down our racism attitude towards them and yes, be careful to claim that Malaysia is our land for they also have the citizenship of Malaysia.
The fieldwork has somehow taught us to face the world, nonetheless made us ponder on why and how that this issue came about. During the presentation, we mainly talked about on how they were first brought here, on how they should and should not get the USD 4 trillion and the NEP (New Economics Policy) should be abolished or not. It turned out well, and Dr. Faridah liked it. Tasneem was sooo good and I'm happy that our efforts paid off.
I have another 3 assignments which means I have to undergo another round of time cracking my head. The two assignments are due on the third of March, that are Arabic and Error. For the Error, we have to interview one non-Benl student and at this particular time, it's even more harder to find a candidate who is willing to be interviewed and s/he has to write an essay too. I really have no idea who that person would be.
Well, as everybody knows on the 8th, we would have to cast our vote and I do want to go back for that. My mother has injected me with the ideas that it is important not to miss the chance of doing so as one vote means a lot. So, I'm all energetic to do what I suppose, any adult would supposed to do. I'm hoping that the tickets to Kedah are not sold out. If not, mak and I have to figure another way out laah..
One more thing, my best friend, Aman will be Syed's fiancee on the 30th of March.. I'm so happy I mean we're so happy for her.. She's the first to go and I don't see myself at her position anytime soon, I mean this year..hehe..
CONGRATULATIONS Aman!!!
